BIO

Born 1985, Sydney/Gadigal, Australia.

Lives and works in Melbourne/Naarm, Australia

"At the core of my work is a love for painting.  I seem to be always attempting to blend abstraction with figuration in the hopes of exploring the dynamic relationship between individuals and their surroundings. I am drawn to the intimacy of gestural mark-making, offering some insight into my process. I regularly work on multiple pieces simultaneously, leaving my work appearing fragmented while subtle inflections of reappearing motifs gradually shape a cohesive narrative. This approach allows me to straddle that line between control and spontaneity, while also allowing me to revisit ideas and evoke a sense of energy, inviting the viewer to engage with both the seen and unseen aspects of different environments".
